Is it possible to present a poster/oral presentation with co-authors?

Co-authors can present their research together. If you want to do this, you will both have to register as an active participant. We would like to ask you to put the fact that you will both present as a comment during your registration proces. 

Will my abstract be published?

Only if your abstract has been accepted, will we publish your abstract in the abstractbook. However, note that there is a deadline for sending your abstract. If your abstract has not been submitted before 15/07 we can not publish it.

Do I have to print out the poster myself?

If you prefer, you may print the poster yourself, however make sure the poster stays intact during transportation.
Our university can provide the posters as well. Last year's price was € 34,00, this may change. Should you decide to have it printed here at our university, make sure to contact us ( 4 weeks prior to the start of the congress.

Will I receive a refund in case I'm not able to attend the congress?

Refunds will only be provided for active participants whose abstracts are rejected. More information can be found on

What happens if my abstract is not accepted?

In case your abstract is not accepted you can still participate as a passive participant to follow your collegues' poster presentations and the lectures and workshops we provide from the 15th to the 17th of September. We will also contact you to discuss further details.

What kind of competitions are there?

There are two main competitions, oral presentations and poster presentations. Authors of accepted abstracts can choose to present their study as an oral presentation or during the posterwalk session. The posterwalk sessions are again divided in case reports and clinical fundamental studies. Please check our website for further information.

Can I present a case report as an oral presentation?

No, only clinical fundamental studies will be selected for the competition with oral presentations.

When will I know whether my abstract has been accepted for active partipation?

Our jury will view every abstract as soon as possible. When the selection procedure has finished we will contact you. If your abstract is not selected, you may still participate as a passive participant to follow your collegues' poster presentations (13th -14​th of September) and the lectures and workshops (15​th - 17​th of September)

How do I register as a co-author?

Co-authors must register as a passive participant and pay the price for a passive participant. Note that you will receive a certificate for passive participation AND also a certificate for being a co-author.

If you want to help presenting your co-authors research, you must register as an active participant, and put this in the comments during your registration process. 

What is the deadline for registration for active and passive participants?

Which creditcard can I use to pay accommodation?

Creditcards that can be used in Belgium for paying the accommodation are:
American Express, Visa, Euro/Mastercard, Carte Bleue, Diners, Maestro, Bancontact, PIN

Of course this question is not applicable when you choose to pay your accomodation via us. 

Will you be careful with my personal information?

The AMSC will use any personal data made available to it only to the extent necessary for the performance of its services. 

Does my abstract have to follow the theme of the conference?

The subject of your abstract doesn't necessarily have to follow the theme of the congress. For example, if you want to submit an abstract regarding dermatology, it is possible, even though this year's theme is 'Medicine under pressure'.
However every lecture or workshop that we will offer will be related to the theme of the conference.
